During the expeditions of Alexander the Great, apricot was brought to Anatolia in the 4 th century and Anatolia has become the second homeland of apricot because it has suitable lands and climate for its cultivation. During the Roman and Persian wars in the 1st century, it was first taken to Italy and then to Greece by Armenian merchants.
